The Awaited Appointment

Giyu Visits the Ophthalmologist

On August 05, 2021, Giyu showed up 30 minutes early to his appointment with the Ophthalmologist (aka eye doctor). We were told to give him a dose of his pain medication 2 hours before the appointed time. This is so that he will remain stable and calm, letting the doctor work her magic. Since Giyu had already finished his pain medication recently, he was taken in to see the eye doctor without any in his system. And upon waiting about 30 to 45 minutes, I was surprised to know that Giyu was very stable and patient throughout the whole process. Through it all, he seemed to be very unaffected and unfazed and because of that, even the ophthalmologist said that they had an easier time than they had thought. At the end of the day, Giyu received more steroid medication at a lower dose to make sure that the swelling of his eye deflates even more and oral antibiotics to help with viruses, bacteria and such.

When we asked the question if Giyu would still be able to see with his injured eye, the doctor replied with "It's still too early to tell as of this moment, for now, we need to make sure that the swelling completely goes away and make sure that he takes all of his medications on time". We are still very unsure about the vision in Giyu's eye, but hopefully we can save his eye and its vision instead of completely removing it.

Here's a snapshot of Giyu's car ride home on mommy's lap (or should I say belly).
