On August 8, 2021, just three days after Giyu's appointment with the ophthalmologist something terrible happened. One of his sutures that held his eye closed for healing, suddenly came loose. Why? What could have happened?!
Well... Coming off the hard effects of the medication of his initial emergency visit, Giyu had finally got his energy back.
“I swear Giyu, you are way too playful for a dog that's supposed to be injured.” -Giyu's Pawder
This is both a good thing and a bad thing. If you look at it from a positive point of view, you may say that Giyu is back to "normal" and seems "fine". But from the flip side of things, you can also say that Giyu might start being rowdy, being too playful and rough, and may end up causing more damage than good to himself.
What Happened?!?!
At around noon, we noticed that Giyu's affected eye looked a bit funny. It looked like the middle suture on this eye was loosening. At first, we didn't pay too much attention to it until the next morning when we saw that the loose suture tore through his upper eyelid, rendering it completely useless and hazardous. This is when we got up and took him to emergency as soon as we could.
Thankfully, Giyu was admitted as soon as we arrived and came out of emergency with two out of the three sutures removed?!?! Now, we could see his eye and it still looks very swollen. We asked again about his vision, but again the doctor said that it was still early to tell. Hopefully, just hopefully, he can retain his eye and his vision.
